Living Life at Fonthill House

Short and Long Term Care
Deciding whether to come to a care home, be it for a long or short stay, can feel a little daunting. We believe this should be a positive choice enhancing every aspect of your life at a time when you need some extra help. At Fonthill House, expect to be in a beautiful environment, where staff are wholly committed to ensuring you feel consistently safe, comfortable, stimulated and attentively cared for.

From the moment of admission, it is our priority to get to know what is important for you and your family and tailor your care and daily routines to your wishes. The high ratio of experienced registered nurses available 24 hours a day, enables us to care for people with a wide range of complex illnesses, bringing to each resident the best of person-centred, compassionate care and clinical excellence.

We are highly experienced in assessing your health needs and have excellent relationships with local GPs and hospitals. We listen closely to how you are feeling and adapt our care as your health needs change and develop. We seek to avoid hospital admissions and have an extensive team of health professionals including an in-house GP two full days a week, a physiotherapist, a speech and language therapist and a dietician to help make this possible. That said, should there be a need for you to go to hospital, this will be arranged efficiently and quickly and we will endeavour to accompany you there to support you and advocate for you.

We recognise that achieving a great quality of life is not only about being physically well cared for, but also how you are feeling psychologically and how your days are can be mentally enriched. This is why we foster a creative approach to life at Fonthill House. We understand loneliness to be a difficult experience, detrimental to people’s wellbeing, so we introduce residents who have similar interests or experiences to each other.. We also welcome visitors and visiting pets, arrange fantastic days out and create a busy daily activities schedule. In addition, all of our staff are employed on the basis that they have a genuine desire to care for others in an approachable and authentic way and it is this ethos which allows us to foster a consistently warm and friendly atmosphere at Fonthill House.

We firmly believe that by competently and compassionately caring for the whole person in the beautiful surroundings of Fonthill House we can help transform the potentially daunting decision to go to a care home into a positive choice, full of opportunity for a better way of life.
