Fonthill House is a luxury 64 bedroom care home with coffee shop, located in St Albans, Hertfordshire. We are now looking for an outstanding person to join our kitchen team.

Job Purpose:

As the Jr Sous Chef, you are responsible for helping to manage (under the supervision of the Head Chef) the operation of the kitchen including food production, staff management, supplies, presentation/service and record management and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Some of your duties will include:

Preparing, cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals, as and when required for both clients and staff.
Ensuring all meals are of the highest possible quality and attractively presented.
Providing for special dietary requirements where necessary and taking into account the preferences of individual clients.

Hours of Work:

An average of 42hours a week over a 2 week rota.

Experience:

Job Duties:

Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards.
Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment.
Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards.
